Bruce Beasley Commissions

Beasley has been commissioned to create and install environmental scale outdoor works for the cities of Shanghai, Palo Alto, and most recently on the grounds of the internationally renowned University of California, Berkeley, the artist’s alma mater. Over his 60-year career, Beasley has been commissioned to create and install sculptures for city and state municipalities all over the United States, Mexico, Europe and Asia; his sculpture Gathering of Moons, was selected for the 2008 Olympics by the Chinese government. Other commissions have come from the Oakland Museum, Stanford University, the California State Capitol, the Djerassi Foundation, the Johnson and Johnson Foundation and too many to summarize. In 2015, Beasley was one of the few non-art historians invited to deliver a lecture at the Goethe University in Frankfort, Germany on the career and work of his close friend and inspiration, renowned Spanish sculptor Eduardo Chillida.
